Slow: Pandora Charms Serving As Little Reminders

posted on: Tuesday, September 4, 2018

When was the last time you took a deep breath in and reminded yourself to slow down and take a look around? Wearing Pandora charms as pretty little reminders.

Hey all, it’s been a hot minute, hasn’t it? Besides not blogging regularly like a good girl, I’ve been once again swamped with studying.

Can we just take a minute to realise just how fast this year is zooming by? Maybe it’s just because I’m old now and I realise that this isn’t going to last forever but it’s really made me try and enjoy the little things more. Things like riding bicycles around with my son. Watching the surfers at the beach with my dad. Movie nights with the family and all of the candy. Cafe brunches and evening people watching in bars with friends.

I think this year has really taught me to really just live in the moment and appreciate all of the little things. It sounds really cheesy and cliche and all of that, but we might as well enjoy everything while we’re here right? It beats complaining and the alternative, that’s for sure.

I’ve even learnt to like studying. I still have a long way to go, but I’ve taught myself to enjoy the alone time I get while doing uni work, instead of filling my mind procrastination and a thousand boredom thoughts. On that note, who would like a study tips blog post?

When I was a child, I was obsessed with charm bracelets. I have no idea where I got the charms from (probably from bookclub orders) but I would have charms that represented different things in my life; music symbols, animals, makeup, nature, food, the list goes on.

Now that I’m no longer a child, I like to invest in more quality pieces, rather than the dinky pieces I picked up through book clubs, fetes and DIY Kmart jewellery sets, and what better place to pick out some charms for almost any occasion of you life, than Pandora?

I fell in love with the new Pandora Festival Collection right away. Is there anyone who doesn’t want a tiny palm tree, burger and fries hanging off of their neck? What made me love this collection so much is that it reminds me of summer days. Spending almost every day on the beach. Driving along the coast, watching the shorelines. Eating fries and ordering giant burgers with the works and spending balmy evenings with friends out in the backyard. A jug of sangria and some antipasto to share. There’s charms to suit all occasions and I love how they serve as tiny reminders to myself to step back and take a deep breath.

Just looking at these charms gets me excited for summer. I can almost taste all of the burgers I am going to order. I mean, I eat burgers all through the year, but there’s just something special about sitting down with one on the beach with the sand between your toes, isn’t there?

How charming

In the fast pace of this world these days, it’s so easy to forget how far we’ve come and to celebrate the tiny victories.

And the tiny achievements definitely do count, the little things make up the bigger picture after all. So don’t forget to reward yourself for all of the steps you take in the right direction. Whether it’s with a giant burger, some alone time, coffee with friends, or my personal favourite; with charms that serve as a type of tiny trophy to remind me of how I got here.

So tell me, what do you do to when you want life to slow down a little? What do you do to remind yourself to live in the moment, instead of getting hung up on the past or caught up in the future? Let me know below, I would love to get some new ideas.
